Who Will Have a #1 Album in 2026?
ENHYPEN and Rod Wave have separated themselves from the field in Kalshi's 2026 Billboard 200 market, but this is not a winner-take-all prediction. Post Malone, Beyoncé, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, and dozens of other artists can also resolve Yes if they score a No. 1 album before the final eligible Billboard chart of the year.
Music predictions are a little different from elections, sports championships, or political appointments because the most famous artist is not automatically the best prediction. Album release dates, fan intensity, physical sales, streaming, competition during release week, and the timing of the Billboard chart can all determine whether an artist reaches No. 1.
Kalshi traders currently have ENHYPEN at the top with an 88% market chance and a displayed Yes price of 93¢. Rod Wave is right behind at 86%, while Post Malone sits at 62%, Beyoncé at 61%, Travis Scott at 40%, and Kendrick Lamar at 36%.
The market has generated more than $783,000 in trading volume in the snapshot supplied for this article.

This Market Can Have More Than One Winner
This is the most important part of the market to understand.
Kalshi is not asking which single artist will finish 2026 with the year's "best" album. It is asking whether each individual artist will have a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 by the market deadline.
That means ENHYPEN could resolve Yes, Rod Wave could resolve Yes, Post Malone could resolve Yes, Beyoncé could resolve Yes, and Travis Scott could resolve Yes in the same year.
This is why the percentages across all of the artists add up to far more than 100%. Each contract represents its own Yes-or-No event.

Why ENHYPEN Can Lead Without Everyone Knowing the Group
ENHYPEN sitting at 88% is probably the most interesting part of this entire market, especially for anyone outside the K-pop audience.
A No. 1 Billboard 200 album does not require an artist to be universally recognized across every age group in the United States. It requires enough album consumption during the relevant chart week to finish ahead of every competing release.
That distinction matters for K-pop. A concentrated, highly engaged fan base can produce enormous first-week activity even when people outside that audience may have little familiarity with the artist.
Vogue's 2026 midyear album coverage is another sign that Korean music is firmly part of mainstream U.S. music coverage. Its August update includes BTS's Arirang among the publication's standout albums of the year and discusses the group's return after its members completed military service.
That does not prove ENHYPEN will hit No. 1. It does help explain why American name recognition among older listeners and actual chart demand can be very different measurements.

Rod Wave Is Only Two Points Behind ENHYPEN
Rod Wave is the artist closest to the leader at 86%.
Unlike ENHYPEN, Rod Wave already has extensive recognition within American hip-hop and R&B audiences, and the market appears highly confident that his next major album release can reach the top of the Billboard 200.
His Yes contracts are displayed at 86¢, essentially matching the 86% chance listed by Kalshi.
The gap between him and Post Malone is substantial. Post Malone is next at 62%, meaning traders currently view ENHYPEN and Rod Wave as their own top tier.
Post Malone and Beyoncé Sit in the Middle of the Leading Group
Post Malone and Beyoncé are almost tied by market probability, at 62% and 61% respectively.
Both have massive existing audiences, extensive chart histories, and the ability to generate considerable attention around a new album. The question is less about whether people know who they are and more about what they release, when they release it, and what other albums are competing during the same chart week.
Post Malone's displayed Yes price is currently 62¢. Beyoncé is more expensive at 67¢ despite the listed probability sitting at 61%, another example of how the live order book can temporarily differ from the market's displayed chance.
Predict Which Artists Will Reach No. 1
Kalshi currently lists dozens of individual artist contracts tied to whether each artist will have a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 before the market deadline.
View the Album Market on KalshiTravis Scott and Kendrick Lamar Offer More Upside at Current Prices
Travis Scott and Kendrick Lamar sit well below the four leading artists, but that also means a successful Yes prediction would generate a larger return per contract at today's prices.
Travis Scott is listed at a 40% chance with Yes at 42¢. Kendrick Lamar is at 36%, with Yes contracts also displayed at 36¢.
This illustrates the basic tradeoff in prediction markets. Paying 93¢ for ENHYPEN reflects a much higher expectation of success but leaves only 7¢ of gross profit per winning contract before fees. A lower-priced contract carries more risk but provides substantially more upside if it resolves Yes.
What a Winning ENHYPEN Prediction Could Pay at 93¢
ENHYPEN is the current market leader, so the first payout table uses the displayed 93¢ Yes price.
If ENHYPEN has a No. 1 Billboard 200 album before the market deadline, each winning Yes contract settles at $1.
| Investment | Whole Contracts | Approx. Cost | Winning Payout | Approx. Profit Before Fees |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25 | 26 | $24.18 | $26 | $1.82 |
| $50 | 53 | $49.29 | $53 | $3.71 |
| $100 | 107 | $99.51 | $107 | $7.49 |
| $250 | 268 | $249.24 | $268 | $18.76 |
| $500 | 537 | $499.41 | $537 | $37.59 |
| $1,000 | 1,075 | $999.75 | $1,075 | $75.25 |
Examples use a constant 93¢ purchase price, whole contracts, and exclude transaction fees. Actual execution prices and available quantities can change.
What a Winning Post Malone Prediction Could Pay at 62¢
Post Malone provides a useful comparison because his current Yes price is substantially lower than ENHYPEN's.
| Investment | Whole Contracts | Approx. Cost | Winning Payout | Approx. Profit Before Fees |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| $25 | 40 | $24.80 | $40 | $15.20 |
| $50 | 80 | $49.60 | $80 | $30.40 |
| $100 | 161 | $99.82 | $161 | $61.18 |
| $250 | 403 | $249.86 | $403 | $153.14 |
| $500 | 806 | $499.72 | $806 | $306.28 |
| $1,000 | 1,612 | $999.44 | $1,612 | $612.56 |
Examples use a constant 62¢ purchase price, whole contracts, and exclude transaction fees. A lower contract price produces a larger possible profit because the market currently considers the outcome less certain.
How the No. 1 Album Market Resolves
Each artist's contract resolves Yes if that artist has a No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 by December 26, 2026.
If the qualifying event occurs earlier, the applicable market is scheduled to close the following day at 10 AM ET. Otherwise, the market closes by December 26, 2026 at 11:59 PM EST.
The outcome is verified using the Billboard 200.

For purposes of the market, the final Billboard chart included is the one published for December 26, 2026.
Critical Acclaim and a No. 1 Album Are Not the Same Thing
Billboard, Vogue, and Pitchfork all publish editorial lists discussing notable or critically acclaimed records, but those lists should not be confused with the Billboard 200 outcome that determines this prediction market.
Vogue's August update describes 2026 as an especially busy year for major pop releases and highlights albums from artists including BTS, Charli xcx, Drake, Harry Styles, Madonna, Olivia Rodrigo, and many others.
Pitchfork maintains a rolling list of albums that its editors consider among the strongest music released during the year, focusing heavily on records that earned high review scores or Best New Music recognition.
Those editorial judgments measure artistic reception. The Kalshi market measures whether an artist reaches No. 1 on the Billboard 200. An album can receive glowing reviews and never top the chart, while another can debut at No. 1 without appearing near the top of critics' year-end lists.
I Am Sitting This Prediction Out
This section reflects Robert Beadle's personal opinion. It is separate from the prediction-market prices, Billboard settlement rules, and source reporting above.
This is unfortunately a really tough call for me, but not because I cannot judge good music.
My problem is that, in my opinion, most new music nowadays just sucks.
I know plenty of people are going to disagree with that, and that is fine. Predictions are all about opinions, and music may be more subjective than almost anything else we cover.
What really throws me off with this market is ENHYPEN.
They are leading Kalshi at 88%, with Yes contracts trading around 93¢. They are a Korean group with what is obviously a very dedicated K-pop audience in the United States and around the world.
But I am 46 years old. I know thousands of people, and I cannot think of one person I know who has ever mentioned ENHYPEN to me. Until I started researching this article, I had never heard of them myself.
So when I look at a market telling me there is an 88% chance they will have a No. 1 album in the United States this year, my immediate reaction is basically: who the hell are all these people listening to K-pop?
That is not me hating on ENHYPEN, Korean artists, or K-pop. It is just completely outside the music I listen to and apparently outside the music most people in my personal circle listen to.
At the same time, that is exactly why personal experience can be misleading in a market like this.
You do not need every 46-year-old American to know your name to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200. You need a large enough group of highly committed listeners buying, streaming, and supporting an album during the right week.
K-pop audiences can be extremely organized and dedicated. That helps explain why the market can look completely reasonable to younger music fans while looking bizarre to someone like me.
Rod Wave makes much more sense to me personally.
He is second at 86%, and when I mention Rod Wave to people, most of them at least know who I am talking about. He is hot right now, he has a large American audience, and I can understand why traders believe he has a very good chance of reaching No. 1.
Then you have Post Malone, Beyoncé, Travis Scott, and Kendrick Lamar.
If you asked me which artists feel bigger and more familiar in the United States, personally I would put all four of those names ahead of ENHYPEN. That is based on my own experience, though, not a claim that the market must be wrong.
The market is measuring a very specific thing. It is not asking which artist has the biggest name, who makes the best music, who has the most lifetime fans, or who I would rather listen to.
It is asking whether each artist can produce at least one No. 1 Billboard 200 album before December 26.
And because I am this disconnected from what is apparently driving one of the strongest music outcomes on the board, I am doing something I do not do very often.
I am not making a pick.
I am not putting money on ENHYPEN. I am not betting against them either. I am sitting this one out because I know when a market is outside my lane.
If you understand the current K-pop audience better than I do, maybe 93¢ on ENHYPEN makes perfect sense to you. If you think Rod Wave, Post Malone, Beyoncé, Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar, or someone further down the list has the better opportunity, the market gives you plenty of choices.
My question for readers is simple: who do you think gets a No. 1 album before the end of 2026?
A Famous Name Does Not Guarantee a No. 1 Week
Release timing matters. Competition matters. Streaming demand matters. Fan buying activity matters. An artist can be one of the biggest names in music and still release during a week when another album produces more chart activity.
These prices will also move as release dates become official, albums arrive, first-week projections develop, and new Billboard charts are published.
Who Is Most Likely to Have a No. 1 Album in 2026?
The market currently gives the clearest answers to ENHYPEN and Rod Wave.
ENHYPEN leads at 88%, followed by Rod Wave at 86%. There is then a substantial drop to Post Malone at 62% and Beyoncé at 61%.
Travis Scott is at 40%, Victoria Monét at 39%, Kendrick Lamar at 36%, SZA at 34%, and Sabrina Carpenter at 30%.
Again, those artists are not competing for one single winning slot. More than one can finish the year with a No. 1 Billboard 200 album, and several of these contracts could ultimately resolve Yes.
The larger question is whether traders have correctly identified which fan bases can generate a No. 1 week before December 26.
