The road to Super Bowl LXI is only beginning, but the prediction market is already active. ProphetX lists 32 individual team markets for the 2027 NFL championship, giving football fans an early opportunity to trade contracts based on which team they believe will eventually hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

The market supplied to Bonus Predictions shows $336,772.26 in activity. The Los Angeles Rams currently have the highest displayed Yes price at 16.67¢, while several other major contenders sit much lower. Dallas is displayed at 9.52¢, Buffalo at 9.43¢, Seattle at 7.69¢, Baltimore at 7.41¢, Kansas City at 6.45¢, and Philadelphia at 6.06¢.

These prices are not preseason rankings or guarantees. They represent available contracts on ProphetX at the time the market information was captured. Prices and available quantities can change as traders submit orders, injuries occur, rosters change, and the regular season develops.

Which Teams Are Leading the Super Bowl LXI Market?

The Rams sit noticeably above the rest of the market at the moment. That position also lines up with Sports Illustrated's preseason Week 2 rankings, which place Los Angeles first among all 32 teams.

Los Angeles Rams

16.67¢

The highest displayed ProphetX Yes price in the supplied market. Los Angeles also led the NFL in total offense during the 2025 regular season at 394.6 yards per game.

Dallas Cowboys

9.52¢

Dallas has the second-highest displayed Yes price in the supplied ProphetX snapshot. The Cowboys ranked second in total offense and second in passing yards per game in 2025.

Buffalo Bills

9.43¢

Buffalo remains one of the market leaders and ranked first in the NFL in rushing during the 2025 regular season at 159.6 yards per game.

Seattle, Baltimore, Kansas City, Philadelphia, New England, Denver, the Chargers, Houston, Cincinnati, Detroit, San Francisco, and Green Bay make up much of the next tier based on the available Yes prices.

Sports Illustrated Has the Rams at No. 1

Sports Illustrated's NFL power rankings ahead of preseason Week 2 also place the Los Angeles Rams at the top. Seattle ranks second, Baltimore third, Buffalo fourth, and Philadelphia fifth.

SI Ranking Team ProphetX Yes Price
1 Los Angeles Rams 16.67¢
2 Seattle Seahawks 7.69¢
3 Baltimore Ravens 7.41¢
4 Buffalo Bills 9.43¢
5 Philadelphia Eagles 6.06¢

Sports Illustrated's ranking is editorial analysis. ProphetX prices come from the supplied prediction-market snapshot and can change independently of media rankings.

2025 NFL Stats Give the Rams a Strong Starting Point

The Rams led the NFL with 394.6 total offensive yards per game in 2025 and also led the league in passing at 268.1 yards per game.

Dallas finished second in both total offense at 391.9 yards per game and passing at 266.3. Detroit ranked fifth in total offense at 373.2 and third in passing at 253.1.

Buffalo led the league in rushing at 159.6 yards per game, Baltimore followed at 156.6, and Chicago ranked third at 144.5.

Defense Could Change the Super Bowl Picture

Offense receives much of the attention in championship discussions, but the 2025 defensive numbers also identify several teams that enter 2026 with a significant statistical foundation.

Houston Texans

Houston allowed an NFL-low 277.2 yards per game in 2025 and finished with a +17 turnover differential.

Denver Broncos

Denver allowed 278.2 yards per game and led the NFL with 68 sacks during the 2025 regular season.

Detroit Lions

Detroit recorded 49 sacks, tying Minnesota for fourth in the league, while also finishing among the NFL's most productive offensive teams.

Chicago Bears

Chicago posted the NFL's best turnover differential at +22, which helped offset a team profile that differs considerably from the top offensive contenders.

Buffalo and Detroit Lead NFL.com's First-Time Winner List

NFL.com recently ranked the 12 franchises that have never won a Super Bowl based on which team appears closest to finally winning its first Lombardi Trophy.

Buffalo ranks first on that list, with Detroit second. The ranking is not a comparison of every NFL team. It is limited specifically to franchises that have never won the Super Bowl.

Buffalo's 9.43¢ ProphetX price currently places it among the overall market leaders. Detroit sits considerably lower at 4.55¢ despite NFL.com ranking the Lions second among the teams still looking for their first Super Bowl championship.

That gap is one of the more interesting parts of the current market. Detroit costs less than half as much per Yes contract as Buffalo and roughly one-quarter of the Rams' current price.

My Take on Predicting the Super Bowl This Early

This section reflects Robert Beadle's personal opinion and is separate from the market data and sourced statistics above.

Football is unpredictable. Any team can look completely different from one Sunday to the next, and preseason football tells us very little about what the NFL will look like once the games count.

Last year's statistics still give us something to start with. They show which teams already had productive offenses, disruptive defenses, and rosters capable of competing at a high level. They do not tell us who will win Super Bowl LXI.

That is part of what makes buying championship contracts this early interesting to me. There are several teams that look more likely than others, but there are no guarantees. Some fans may prefer to spread their predictions across several teams rather than choosing only one this far from February.

There is also a price consideration. If a team starts winning and becomes a legitimate championship favorite, its contracts could become considerably more expensive later in the season. Buying early gives you a different price, but it also means accepting much more uncertainty.

For me personally, I am going with Detroit because the Lions are my team. Detroit has never appeared in a Super Bowl or won one, but I am still riding with them. One Pride.

The market certainly gives me reasons to look elsewhere. Los Angeles is the current ProphetX leader at 16.67¢. Buffalo sits at 9.43¢, and NFL.com ranks the Bills first among franchises still searching for their first Super Bowl championship.

But Detroit at 4.55¢ is interesting to me. NFL.com has the Lions second on that same first-time champion list, Detroit had one of the NFL's most productive offenses last season, and Sports Illustrated notes that the Lions have one of the league's most favorable 2026 schedules.

Does that mean Detroit wins it? Of course not. It means I can support my team at a much lower current contract price than the Rams, Bills, Seahawks, or Ravens. For me, that makes the season more interesting.

These are displayed contract prices from the supplied ProphetX order book, not fixed forecasts. Available quantities differ by team, and purchasing larger positions may require filling contracts at several different prices.

Why the Cheapest Price Is Not Always Available for a Large Order

The current order book shows limited quantities at some of the best prices. For example, the supplied snapshot shows approximately $206 available around 16.67¢ for the Rams, $230 around 9.43¢ for Buffalo, and $73 around 4.55¢ for Detroit.

If a trader attempts to purchase more contracts than are available at the lowest displayed price, the remaining order may need to fill at higher prices. The payout illustrations below therefore show the mathematics of buying at one stated price. They do not guarantee that a large order can actually be filled entirely at that price.

Los Angeles Rams Winning Examples at 16.67¢

If the Rams win Super Bowl LXI and a Yes contract settles at $1, a contract purchased at 16.67¢ would return $1 upon a correct prediction. The examples below use whole contracts and assume the entire order fills at 16.67¢.

Budget Whole Contracts Approx. Cost Payout if Rams Win Approx. Profit Before Fees
$25149$24.84$149$124.16
$50299$49.84$299$249.16

$1,0005,998$999.87$5,998$4,998.13

Illustrative calculation only. A large order may not fill entirely at 16.67¢ because the displayed quantity available at that price is limited.

Buffalo Bills Winning Examples at 9.43¢

Budget Whole Contracts Approx. Cost Payout if Bills Win Approx. Profit Before Fees

Illustrative calculation only. Actual order-book depth, execution prices, and any applicable charges can change the final cost and return.

Detroit Lions Winning Examples at 4.55¢

Detroit's much lower current contract price produces substantially larger mathematical payouts if the Lions were to win Super Bowl LXI. It also reflects a much lower current market probability than the Rams or Bills.

Budget Whole Contracts Approx. Cost Payout if Lions Win Approx. Profit Before Fees
$25549$24.98$549$524.02
$501,098$49.96$1,098$1,048.04

$1,00021,978$1,000.00$21,978$20,978.00

These figures show what the mathematics would look like if every contract filled at 4.55¢. The supplied order book shows far less quantity available at that exact price, so larger real orders would likely require different execution prices.

Why Super Bowl Contract Prices Could Change Quickly

Regular-Season Results

An early winning streak or a poor start can immediately change how traders view a team's path to the playoffs and Super Bowl.

Quarterback Health

An injury to a starting quarterback can significantly change a team's championship outlook and its prediction-market price.

Defense and Turnovers

Teams that create pressure, force turnovers, and prevent explosive plays can become much more attractive once meaningful games begin.

Playoff Positioning

Division races, conference seeding, home-field advantage, and potential playoff opponents become increasingly important later in the season.

Roster Changes

Trades, injuries, returns from injury, and depth-chart changes can affect both team performance and the prices traders are willing to pay.

Market Liquidity

ProphetX prices also depend on available orders. A thin order book can create larger price differences between smaller and larger purchases.

Who Is the Super Bowl LXI Favorite Right Now?

The Los Angeles Rams currently have the highest displayed Yes price in the supplied ProphetX market at 16.67¢. Dallas follows at 9.52¢, Buffalo at 9.43¢, Seattle at 7.69¢, Baltimore at 7.41¢, Kansas City at 6.45¢, and Philadelphia at 6.06¢.

That broad spread reflects how early the season still is. Even the highest-priced team remains far below a 50% probability, which means the market sees considerably more possible championship outcomes than one dominant favorite.

The 2025 statistics provide useful context, but the 2026 regular season will determine which teams actually deserve their early prices. Injuries, quarterback performance, defense, schedule strength, division races, and playoff positioning can completely change the championship picture between August and February.

For now, the Rams lead the ProphetX market, NFL.com's first-time champion ranking gives Buffalo and Detroit plenty of reason for optimism, and all 32 teams still have the opportunity to change the conversation once the regular season begins.

Trade Responsibly Sports prediction-market contracts can lose their full purchase price if the selected outcome does not occur. Prices and available quantities can change rapidly. Review the individual market rules and current order book before submitting a trade, and only use money you can afford to lose.
