What PrizePicks Is and What Users Pick
PrizePicks isn't one single product. Player Picks use a daily fantasy contest structure, while Team and Culture Picks use event contracts with market-based pricing.
Player Picks ask users to choose More or Less on projected athlete statistics and combine two to six selections into a lineup. PrizePicks sets each projection and shows the payout before the lineup is submitted.
Team Picks cover winners, spreads, totals and futures. Culture Picks cover defined outcomes tied to entertainment, economics, music, awards and other public events. These products sit beside other regulated Prediction Markets, but their account structure and user experience are built into the broader PrizePicks app.
Searchers often call PrizePicks a sportsbook because many picks involve familiar sports outcomes. That label is incomplete. Player Picks are daily fantasy contests, and PrizePicks Predict offers Team and Culture Picks as event contracts through a registered futures commission merchant.
PrizePicks Player, Team and Culture Picks
Each pick type uses different mechanics, payout rules and geographic permissions, even though all three appear inside the same account.
Player Picks
Choose More or Less on athlete projections, combine two to six selections and select a Power Play or Flex Play. PrizePicks sets the projection and discloses the payout before submission.
Team Picks
Take a side on a winner, spread, total or future. Pricing can move with market activity, and eligible positions may be sold before the event reaches final settlement.
Culture Picks
Select Yes or No on measurable outcomes involving entertainment, music, economics, awards and other cultural events. The contract rules determine the final result.

How PrizePicks Player Picks Work
The PrizePicks board lists athlete projections by league, game and stat type. Users decide whether the final result will finish above or below the posted number.
Choose a Projection
Review the athlete, opponent, start time, stat category and posted number before adding a selection to the lineup.
Select More or Less
More wins when the official result finishes above the projection. Less wins when the result finishes below it, subject to the rules.
Stack Two to Six Picks
Standard lineups require athletes from at least two teams. More selections can increase the potential payout and total risk.
Review the Payout
Choose the entry amount and lineup type, then confirm the displayed multiplier, special projections and promotional conditions.
Simple More or Less Example
Suppose a basketball player has a 22.5-point projection. More wins when the official scoring result is 23 points or higher. Less wins when the player finishes with 22 points or fewer. A result can't tie a half-point projection, but whole-number projections can create a tie and reduce the lineup to a lower payout tier.
Projection Result
Demons
Demon projections are harder to clear and can raise the potential payout. They increase risk because the athlete must beat a more demanding number than a standard projection.
Goblins
Goblin projections are easier to clear and reduce the payout multiplier. They trade upside for a more favorable projection.
PrizePicks Power Play, Flex Play and Payouts
PrizePicks payouts are established before submission and can differ by lineup type, pick count, promotions and special projections.
Power Play
Every active selection must win. Standard published rates range from 3x for two correct picks to 37.5x for six correct picks, although the app can display a different multiplier for a specific lineup. Eligible combinations with Demons and Goblins can show advertised potential payouts up to 2000x.
Flex Play
Eligible Flex lineups can still return money when one or two picks miss. Full-hit multipliers are lower than comparable Power Plays, and partial-hit returns depend on lineup size.

Combined Player and Team Lineups
Eligible users can add one NBA, WNBA or MLB Team Pick to two through five Player Picks in a Power Play lineup. The Team contract and DFS portion remain legally separate transactions, while PrizePicks shows one combined projected payout before submission. Payment methods, boosts and Protected Plays can be restricted for combined lineups.
Early Exit
PrizePicks can offer an early payout on eligible Player Pick lineups based on completed results, remaining time and the current likelihood of winning. The quoted value can change before acceptance and may be lower than the maximum payout available by holding the lineup.
Team and Culture Event Contracts
PrizePicks Predict brings single-outcome event contracts into the same app used for Player Picks.
Yes and No Outcomes
Users choose whether a defined sports or cultural outcome will happen. The written contract terms, closing time and settlement source control the result.
Market-Based Pricing
Popular outcomes generally carry lower payout multipliers, while less popular outcomes can pay more. The value can move as market activity changes.
Sell Before Settlement
Eligible contracts can usually be sold before the event closes. The available exit value depends on the contract's current price and applicable service fees.
PrizePicks Legal States, Availability and Age Rules
Where PrizePicks is legal depends on the user's physical location, minimum age and the specific pick type selected in the app.
California and Texas
PrizePicks currently lists Player, Team and Culture Picks for eligible users in California and Texas. Both states use an 18+ minimum under the published availability rules.
New York
PrizePicks is available in New York for eligible users age 18 or older. Current access includes Player Picks and Culture Picks, while Team Picks aren't listed for New York.
Nevada
Nevada is currently limited to Free2Play contests. Real-money Player, Team and Culture Picks aren't listed as available in the state.

Minimum Age and Deposit Limits
Most eligible states require users to be at least 18. Alabama and Colorado use 19+, while Arizona, Illinois, Massachusetts and Virginia use 21+ for real-money products. PrizePicks also publishes automatic monthly deposit limits of $1,500 for age 18, $3,000 for age 19 and $5,000 for age 20.
PrizePicks Promo Code and Welcome Bonus
PrizePicks currently promotes code MAXBONUS for a new-user offer of $150 in Bonus Lineups when the first eligible lineup of at least $5 settles as a win. A first deposit of at least $10 is required.
The qualifying lineup must include Player Picks and can include an eligible Team Pick. Team-only and Culture-only event contract purchases don't qualify. Campaign-specific and state-specific codes can display the same reward, so the offer attached to registration controls.
Review Funding MethodsNew users must deposit at least $10, enter the applicable PrizePicks promo code during registration and win the first eligible $5+ lineup. PrizePicks Promotions, Missions and Referral Rewards
PrizePicks rotates temporary offers through the Rewards tab and the main board. Many promotions require an opt-in before the lineup is built.
Protected Plays
An eligible losing lineup can return a Bonus Lineup equal to the net loss. The user must opt in and activate the protection before submission.
Payout Boosts
A boost raises the profit potential on an eligible Player Picks lineup without changing the selections. Requirements appear in the Rewards tab.
Taco Tuesday
Temporary community-selected discounts lower certain player projections each Tuesday. Each discounted number stays available for a limited time.
Guarantee Picks
Selected projections can drop to 0.5, so one recorded unit makes More win. The selection still must clear the number and isn't guaranteed.
Flex Friday
PrizePicks can offer a Friday Protected Play on an eligible Flex lineup. The current Rewards tab shows whether the account received the offer.
Missions
Time-limited in-app tasks can award Bonus Lineups, boosts or other rewards after the listed action is completed and settled.
Referral Code
Eligible users can share a personal PrizePicks referral code and earn Bonus Balance when a referred user completes the current requirements.
PrizePicks Deposits, Withdrawals and Processing Times
Payment options depend on the pick type, state and account history. Team and Culture Picks support fewer funding methods than Player Picks.
Debit Cards and Apple Pay
Visa debit, eligible Mastercard debit, instant bank transfer and Apple Pay using supported debit cards can fund Player, Team and Culture Picks.
Player Picks Methods
PayPal, Venmo and selected credit cards can be available for Player Picks only. Funds deposited through those methods can't be used for Team or Culture event contracts.
Approved Withdrawals
Users can withdraw to a verified bank account and eligible PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay or debit methods previously used for a successful deposit.

How to Withdraw Money From PrizePicks
Open the account menu, select Request Withdrawal, choose the approved destination and enter the amount. PrizePicks sends a one-time password by email and confirms whether the request succeeds. Inaccurate bank information, an unsupported payment method or a request below $10 can cause the withdrawal to fail.
Deposit Limits and Payment Changes
PrizePicks can apply hourly, daily and monthly deposit limits. Users can connect up to two cards and one account for each supported wallet or bank method. Most payment methods can't be removed until 60 days after their first use, and removal frequency is limited for security.
Official Scoring, DNPs, Reboots and Tied Projections
Final settlement follows official league data or approved third-party providers, not unofficial broadcasts, social posts or user calculations.
Official Scoring
PrizePicks identifies Sportradar, Genius, Stats Perform and Grid as scoring partners. Final rulings posted at event completion control.
DNP
A player marked Did Not Play is removed from the active lineup. The payout reverts to the next eligible lineup tier or refunds when required.
Reboot
An eligible early injury or exit can trigger a Reboot under the sport's policy. The selection is treated similarly to a removed pick for payout purposes.
Tied Projection
When an athlete lands exactly on a whole-number projection, the lineup moves down one payout tier instead of removing the selection completely.
Fantasy Score and Stat Categories
Fantasy score projections combine several statistics through a published scoring formula. Hitter fantasy score, pitcher fantasy score, PRA, pitching outs and other stat labels each use their own definitions. The projection card and sport rules should be checked before submission.
Live scoring is an estimate and isn't the final authority. PrizePicks normally settles from the originally posted official results and can correct clear internal scoring errors when necessary.
PrizePicks Taxes, Account Security and Risk
PrizePicks is an established operating platform, but legitimacy doesn't remove trading or contest risk. Tax reporting differs between DFS winnings and event-contract gains, while every pick can still lose the entire amount placed at risk.
Player Picks Taxes
PrizePicks says qualifying users with at least $600 in annual net winnings from non-contract products receive Form 1099-MISC.
Event Contract Taxes
Team and Culture Pick gains and losses are reported through Form 1099-B when the account has reportable event-contract activity.
Account Verification
PrizePicks verifies identity, age and location. Payment methods must match the account holder, and account sharing can trigger restrictions.
Maximum Loss
An incorrect Power Play, single Team Pick or Culture Pick can lose the full entry amount. Flex returns and promotions don't remove that risk.
Responsible Gaming Tools
PrizePicks provides activity alerts, deposit and entry limits, temporary timeouts and self-exclusion. A lifetime self-exclusion permanently blocks account access and can't be reversed, so users should withdraw available funds before completing that step.
